Hi there everyone here on VJ I'm new here and I guess I just need some advice from fellow friends. I have a few concerns.

I've recently received my husbands interview appointment via Email. No mailed letter and he's telling me that people over there says he need the original. I've already explained that technically the Email is original because that was the only notice of the interview sent to me.

Also he was suppose to have this interview a while back but my first Visa fee payment didnt go through and it took me another 3-4 months to make the payment again. Will this effect his interview approval. I don't want them to be like what took your wife so long to pay the fee???

I'm also concern with my most recent visit, its been almost 2 years since I've last been there. Prior to getting married I've been there to see him 4 times but since then nada.

I'm just really nervous and terrified because I've heard stories of men from Cambodia being denied while women gets more approval.

Any help, suggestions, stories or advice will be greatly appreciated thank you!

Hi there I'm not quite certain maybe someone from this portal know for sure. As far as I know the appointment letter does not have to be received "originaly" from the mailbox. As long as you have a letter from the embassy stating that you are schedule for an interview on a certain date then they will let the person being interview in. Even if you print the paper from online. I have made appointment online to see them and just print the paper from my own printer before. They let me in as long as I have a letter showing the appointment date and time that I've schedule with the embassy. As far as visa interview appt. I'm not sure as my wife have not had her interview yet. I'm in the NVC process now. By the way what day is your husband interview date? Do you have any proof or evidence that you stay connected during these years that you are apart? I think that's what they are looking for in my opinion. Evidence of a continuing relationship even if you haven't visited him in a while. Like maybe phone call logs, letters, documents etc. As far as gender that is not an issue. Good luck.

Oops should I have put this under another section of the website? I didn't know.
The information under your name in the left sidebar says that a K-3 was filed for; did you file both the I-130 and the I-129F, or did you file only the I-130? If the latter, you're on the CR-1 path and your post is fine here where it is.

(Psssssst! Please construct a VJ timeline. :) )

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

OK I looked at my NOA letters and it says I130. Basically they rescheduled him for March 21st because they need 1) an updated criminal record check on him 2) his medical examination report and 3) a translation of my parents info. Number 2 & 3 is no problem but here is where my problem lies. He needs his original birth certificate to do another criminal record but I had sent it to the NVC and they sent it to the US Embassy in Cambodia. I don't know what to do next :/ do I tell him to just go to the embassy and ask for it?
