Photo SPECIFIC requirements

Hi all,

Thanks to all those who provide excellent support and great responses.

My next question concerns the photo requirements.

I was wondering how "strict" the US Embassy is on the measurements of the passport photos for the Interview Packet? When I applied for my student visa 5 years ago I had both the UK passport size and a formatted version with the US size requirements- they ended up taking the UK one!!

I have UK-sized photos ready, but don't want to get tripped up in case new rules have come in to ensure the photos meet the 2" x 2" regulations.

Thanks in advance!

Better to be safe than sorry, imo. Just get the photos they ask for specifically (2x2, white background etc.). Personal opinion :) Good luck.

GC received on the 28th of February, 2014 - no interview, no additional RFE's

Divorced as of September, 2014

NOA1 for ROC 14 October, 2014

Life goes on, my ex-husband is a moron.

Yes I would agree...it's getting them that could be tricky...

I was worried about that myself and at the end it was a hassle BUT....Czech republic, rural area (why I moved to my parent's house for the wait, I will never know :bonk: )...and I still got them done. Chances are, you will be able to as well.

As long as the person taking the photos understands what you need exactly, they will be able to do them 100% sure :)

GL !

Scan in your original UK ones, then use this site to make the US size ones then print them out at home on photo paper or call into boots and do them.

Ignore that last comment- a place in London called "Snappy Snaps" does them- charges ALOT though, but gets them done for you, right measurements and all!!

I would not risk it, either. I didn't even realize my Canadian ones were different so I wound up tossing the ones I had and have new ones on standby. I don't want THAT to be the item that holds us up!

The say it over and over again about the proper size, color background etc... I did read somewhere on this site that an OP received an RFE because of the photos. Be safe, not sorry!

I have no personal experience, but I read that they get more particular on the size as the process goes.

I cut down my canadian ones when we turned in the I-130.

I too read that someone got an RFE for incorrect sizes on NVC pics.
