Hello

My name is Jason.

I'm wondering, what if I have $2,000 in my bank account.

I have $18,720 salary/year.

Would I be eligible to file for AOS without the need of any co-sponsors?

In poverty guidelines 2012 for two is $18,912.

So we have difference of $192.. well lets say around $300. Would my savings be enough?

the assets must be three times the differece for spousal so if 300 short then you need 900 but thats cutting it really cuttng it close.

while you may technically make the cut, i think you definitely have the possibility of needing a cosponsor

because they like for you to be comforably over the poverty line.

not that you cant get though, but there is chance for request of a sponsor.

It's cutting it fine.... LOndon tends to be quite relaxed, so depending on you and your spouses future earnings potential, they may approve. Still, if you can get a co-sponsor, I'd have the papers ready at interview and submit if they seem hesitant.

Foreign earnings of the beneficiary (or even the USC in most cases) do not count towards the AoS since they will cease once you immigrate.

KDH is correct- they only count if the salary continues from the same source, ie if your company transfers you from abroad to the uSA.
