Hi there, I got my NOA 1 back in July, and my fiance and I have been waiting patiently for the NOA2. Since it's been more than 6 months, I figured out how to check my case status online. I had no idea I could do this before a few days ago. Apparently on October 3rd, they requested additional information, but I have yet to get any sort of form or notification through the mail at all. Of course I cannot call them now, as it is after hours, but is this my fault?! My case is suspended until we send in the information, and if we missed the deadline that was mentioned (not sure how long the time frame I have (or had) to send in the additional information), I fear we'll have to start all over again...

Any advice? If I never received anything in the mail, is this my fault because I didn't check my status online religiously? Or am I royally screwed?

Do you check the status of your petition everyday? It should help you know soonest if they need more evidence/papers from you because it will appear on the USCIS' website after you put your receipt number.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to Him,
and He will make your paths straight.

In GOD we trust. † = ♥

I didn't know I could check online until very recently. It's January now, if they apparently sent it in October, my case has been in suspense for more than 3 months... I don't know if that's too long and my case is void :/

They usually give 87 days to respond to an RFE (request for evidence), but you are passed that date. The website is not very reliable, and sometimes can give strange messages that don't really reflect what is going on with your case. You won't really know until you call them. I've never done this, but supposedly if you ask for a "Tier 2" rep on the phone, they are actual immigration people that will be able to give you more information.

It's obviously not your fault since you didn't get any letters from them. It is either their mistake or USPS for losing the mail. It's hard to tell if this will even make a difference to them. You will find out when you call. Good Luck!
