Hello guys,

I needed some help. I will be using a cosponsor for my fiance. I am currently employed but it's overseas. It's to my understanding that I still have to fill out a I-134 form since I am the main sponsor even if I am using a cosponsor. Now, in the 2nd page where it's asking for my employment info, should I put the current job I am working overseas? Or should I leave it blank? Please advise.

Also, what are the requirements for the assets if we list any? I heard you have to show proof that they can be converted to cash. How do you do that? Also, is it Ok if those assets and property are out of the USA?

Thanks a lot for any help!

Even if you work overseas you must pay US taxes every year.

Yes, write your foreign work information]

Cairo does NOT easily accept assets. They will not accept cars-esp any in egypt-cause they know you are not going to take it with you.

They do not like egypt property because it is usually owned by the family and not the sons.

But, if he has cash, savings, retirement that can be easily liquidated-they might count that.

They will use the equity in american homes but it cost money to get a bank appraisal. And you have to send in the amount you owe on the home to prove what equity is in the home. The equity of YOUR american home has to be 3 times the poverty line of about 60,000 in equity.

If it is his families foreign assets then it has to be 5 times the poverty amt or 100,000 cash or assets or equity or combination.

Egypt does not have this system that I am aware of. But it is possible....

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

PLEASE EDIT YOUR TIMELINE IN YOUR PROFILE SO OTHERS CAN LEARN HOW LONG EACH STEP TAKES IN THIS PROCESS

Thanks so much for your reply. Well what if the one that owns that property in Egypt is the one that I will be using as a cosponsor (my father)?

Also, in I-134 where it's asking for savings in the USA bank, can I include savings in other countries as well and attach a bank statement proving that?
