Hi

Long time reader of this website but first post :) I have learned a lot from your experiences thank you all.

My question is for Bogota filers how long it took to receive the passport/visa back once approved?

We live in Medellin any tips to avoid chasing it all around ? Example I renewed my USA passport and asked Domesa to keep it at their Medellin Branch for pickup . It did Arrived days ahead but not even a call.

Tips will be appreciated.

It takes about 6-10 business days for the visas to be delivered outside of Bogotá. So after about 6 days, start contacting the office branch you selected to see if they have received it.

as diana states it takes approx 6 days outside bogota, they will use DHL and you should have already been required to signup for shipping location for your passport with the visa before your interview in bogota. they will make sure you have at the time of the appointment.

Yes, they do it by way of DHL, but if you pick a DHL office in Bogota it is much faster than one say in Medellin, Cali or Pereira, which is where she would have had to go for pick up. in some cases the difference can be a whole week.

Thank you for the clarification . One doubt i still have, in a IR1 case do you register with DHL before or after the interview?

All visas are delivered by DHL and you need to give them your information after the visa is approved. If you want it delivered to your house, you need to pay a delivery fee. If you choose to pick it up at DHL location, it's free of charge.

Has any of you used that site and actually got a waynumber back? I have been checking it since Wed, and still the status hasnt changed.

I also when I opened the account I used the AL # in red, but in the embassy the IO highlighted the RN number on the bio-page of the passport. Im wondering which they use.

Hopefully if I use "AL 999876" and they enter it as only "999876" I wont missout on anything. Or if I register the account with "AL 999876" and they intpur it with the "RN 98365893" I wont miss it either.

I have already created accounts for many of the permutations, but I hope it wasn't too late.

I got my fingers crossed that we get the "email" the embassy is supposed to send with the waybill number and that we get it in the next hour or early Monday.

Any feedback from anyone who remembers the process would be much appreciated.

Just in case someone is looking for the same info.

We were approved on 1/30 the email and CSC Visa site was updated with the waybill number in the evening ~6PM.

Also, used the number on the first page of the passport, the one in red (AL#).

Does anyone know which is faster in Bogotá: 1) Have the passport delievered to your home or 2) Have the passport delivered to a DHL center for pickup?

THANK YOU!
