Misdelivered Green Card

The post office misdelivered my wife's green card. Since they claim it was delivered and it was never bounced back to USCIS, they want us to pay $450 for a new card. Has anyone had any luck complaining to their Senator/Representative to avoid this fee?

have you thought about writing up, instead, a pointed cover letter that you'd be submitting with the I-90 ?

Sometimes, as well, an infopass to the local office clears up a bunch of silliness, but you must ask for the shift supervisor of the front desk staff, once yer there.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

An infopass means a three hour drive each way for me and burning a day of PTO. We've already filed a service request and they said since it was never returned to them, to file I-90 and pay the $450.
