Do I put my new wife's name in the blank on 24e- The person listed above, ______________, does not need to complete form i-864a...???

Only if you listed her in #24b as providing contributing income. If she came on a K-1, she cannot work yet and has no income that can be used, so #24b would be filled in as 'None'. You would not check the box for #24e. See the example form: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-864.pdf
