VERY CONFUSED about siging up for Loomis

I went to the site you guys had linked in the email warning us about remembering to bring the registration number with you to the interview. However I dont' know what to choose.

Permanently Immigrate to the United States (Scheduled by NVC) is one option.

Permanently Immigrate to the United States - Register for Courier Services Only is another.

What am I to choose?

What else am I going to be using this site for? Can someone clarify? My brain is aching.

The instructions are on the site, here: http://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/us_courier_information (Drop down 'IV Applicant Who Need to Register for Loomis Services'). Keep in mind though, do NOT sign up yet until AFTER you have an interview date assigned. The purpose of this site for IR-1/CR-1 applicants is to sign up for Loomis, print out the summary of the location chosen (as it's required now to enter the consulate), and get the tracking number for your visa package once it's mailed out. There's other reasons for the site (such as re-scheduling interviews), but probably won't apply to you.

It shouldn't be an issue, but after an interview date is assigned, I suggest you call up the number on the CSC site to ensure your location is still saved and you won't have any issues.

Just to clarify, I only made it as far as making the account on the CSC site, not the actual Loomis account. I still don't know which I'm supposed to choose from my original post. Would the "normal" process mean I would see the interview date there when I entered my number?

If you haven't signed up for a location yet, don't Just wait As for how, did you read the link I provided above? It details exactly what to do.

And no, you would not see the interview date scheduled at all as you're an IR-1/CR-1 applicant. K1s do though as they actually choose their own interview date on the CSC site.

OK well I got to speak to someone again, who gave me my IIN and my BIN but wouldn't give me the kids' information as he said it was "pointless" because they hadn't invoiced us yet. I didn't push it but thanked him for all his help. He did also explain that they would automatically combine me with the kids so I shouldn't have to do that AND he asked for MY email address which means it's in the system now as well as petitioner's so I think we're good there. He told me not to resend the OPTIN email since I did get the automated response already from this morning.

I didn't push it but thanked him for all his help. Oh, if you don't have all the IINs and BINs, then call up again and request them. Some operators are picky and don't like giving out that information. But if the case number has been assigned, so have the other numbers. Doesn't matter if it's "pointless".

Glad you were able to provide your email address. So, NVC has the petitioner's already on file? Did you verify to make sure it was correct? And what about the 2 kids' email addresses?

And definitely don't resend the optin email. It should be fine. It'll take a few days for them to get to it and now that they have your email address on file...

I will call in again. I want to not mess any of this up obviously. And as much as I have read the Saylin Bible and all the other items it is suddenly overwhelming to be speaking to someone. There is no way to predict if they're someone who is willing/able to help beyond the script. They are all so very nice but each time is a crapshoot I think as to whether or not they will provide what you're asking for. For example earlier today she told me to just send the optin email. I asked if I needed to provide her with my email address and she said no because the petitioner's was already there. Yet when I called in tonight he asked ME if I wanted to provide mine. Very different experience each time. There is also a very different level of comfort each time depending on how the conversation proceeds. I probably overthink everything though.

And yeah, those operators are night and day from each other at times. Hopefully you get a good one though where you can get everything done without issues.

Well another update is that our DS-261 were available to fill out so those are now complete. Now I will login every 8 minutes to see if the bills are there for us to pay. It lists them but they aren't invoiced yet.

8 minutes be a little much It'll take a day at least for them to get to the DS-261s. Every hour should be sufficient
