Hello all,

I am the petitioner and filed for my husband under F2A category, it is being upgraded to IR1. He used to live in UAE and when NVC asked for civil docs, we submitted PCC from both Indian Embassy in UAE and UAE police. He later moved permanently to India. Upon informing NVC of the change of address, they asked us for a new PCC from India which we submitted in July 2012. We are expecting his immigration interview in the next couple of months. My question is, are we required to collect another PCC from UAE for the interview?

Next question: are we required to take the original of the divorce papers of the petitioner to the interview?

Thanks in advance.

You will have to submit the original divorce decree to NVC....

they will return it to u at the time of interview...

Thank you for the reply. NVC did not ask for the original and our case is complete. So, I do not think it is required at NVC stage. is the Original required at the interview? I know, if the beneficiary was divorced, the original is required. But is it the case with the petitioner? I do not feel comfortable sending the Original overseas, unless absolutely required.

You could get a certified copy and send that? Thats what I have for my husband's first marriage as his ex took the original. Generally means you have to go through the court that granted the divorce though.

I could do that. I've already sent a copy along with the I-130. But, is original/certified copy of the divorce decree of the 'petitioner' a 'required' document?

usually at the time of interview they dont ask for petitioner's doc...... just send a scanned copy to ur spouse for back up.....

they didnt ask me for my spouses divorce decree....but asked for my divorce decree again at the time of interview.

hope this helps
