Yes, after you pay your fees on the website, you can either select the date online or you can then call the Consulate's office in Cuidad Juarez to schedule the interview on a date most convenient and available.

Personally, I can not see any employer granting any kind of absense like that when you have only been there a week. And I would not even ask, but that is your choice, not mine. If that job is important to you, then send the documents to your fiance in Mexico thru Fed-EX airmail. It will be expensive, but Mexico has horrible mail service and Fed Ex has been the only route that I have found, in which works for us. You do not "have" to be there at your fiance's interview. In fact, they will not even let you in. You will be sitting outside for hours, just waiting. Good luck! Keep us posted!

Thank you so much for this info :) I will explain it to my fiance that makes me feel much better and okay I'll keep posted

I answered in your other thread here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/405873-co-sponsor-for-k1-in-mexico/page__view__findpost__p__5895701

As for scheduling, you use the website given in the letter and consulate instructions. After you fill out the DS-260, you schedule online through that site. You do not schedule by calling the consulate directly. This is incorrect. The consulate does not schedule appointments.

It actually states directly on the application that you can call them to schedule the appointment, once payment has been made, and unable to find a interview date online. I have also found that information directly from the reviews on the Cuidad Juarez site. So, I don't know how that would be considered incorrect information, if both the consulate and reviews specifically state that.

I believe the part in bold is key here: if unable to find an interview date through the online site, then I suppose you can call them and let them know you were having trouble using the website.

Not too long ago I recall someone posting that they called the consulate to schedule their interview but were told they do not do the scheduling.

The instructions for the K-1, directly from the Juarez consulate websites states to fill out the DS-260, pay the fee and schedule the appointments through this website: http://mexico.usvisa-info.com

The step-by-step directions directly on the Juarez consulate website states the same thing: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/step3kvisa.html

I do not see anywhere in either of those instructions where it states to call the consulate to schedule your appointments. People have been following the instructions and scheduling through that website since they first changed over from an open appointment system(no scheduling anything) to this current system of needing an ASC and interview appointment. I have been helping people get through the process of going through CDJ for a couple years now and everyone seems to do just fine following the instructions and scheduling their appointments through the designated website.

Yes, I agree, you have helped numerous people including myself. I, for one, am very appreciative for that. Thank you! But as you pointed out in my comment, if appointment can not be scheduled online (which is why I put that piece of info in my comment. Therefore, it is not incorrect information. I have also just now went on to the Cuidad Juarez site and have found where it states this (that an appointment can actually be made via telephone. I will provide below.

That is the call center info and is from the website mentioned in the instructions: http://usvisa-info.com/en-MX/selfservice/us_service_options

You can pay the fee and schedule through those numbers, as it says. It is not really the consulate you are calling. You go through this service to pay and schedule online or through those numbers. You do not pay and schedule appointments directly through the consulate.

Also, everyone should be aware that the info they get from calling the 'Juarez consulate'(call center) is just as bad as calling the USCIS hotline. Lots of misinformation.
