Hello all,

Does anyone have any experince with the appropriate way to fill out a form AR-11 for a K1 visa applicant who has not entered the United States yet?

Specifically, this form has a field for an "A" number, which she does not have yet. It also asks a question about the length of stay which, according to the form filing instructions applies to several visa types but does not mention K1. This form also mentions the most recent port of entry and is a drop-down, selectable list with no option for "not yet entered the US".

Any help is appreciated,

Jonathan

You do not need to file an AR-11 until you enter the US. The petition for the K-1 is about the USC. Once that is approved it goes to your Embassy and you have an interview. When it is approved your USC will receive the NOA2 and your A# will be above your name on that form. That is when your A# is assigned. Most Embassies send out e-mails to tell you to fill out the required forms and how to go about getting the medical done and secheduling the interview. My wife never received anything in the mail as the mail in Kazakhstan is not very reliable. It was all done via e-mail.

Good luck,

Dave

Yes. Don't.

There is no need or reason to fill out an AR-11 for a person who does nto even have a visa to enter the country. She is not a "visa applicant" until she applies. A petition is not an application.

AR-11 has TWO purposes, to update the information for a PETITIONER (YOU) if you move during the process, OR for a Legal Permanent Resident (your faincee once she is your wife AND has a green card) Nothing is sent to the fiancee in her foreign country by USCIS so updating them at this point is of no possible use.
