So... for the past week we have been fearful that my husbnad was put in AP because we had to submit a new medical exam, police record, and our son's birth certificate. When my husband submitted our son's birth certificate on DEC 4th (1 day after talking with an officer and sumbitting his passport and med exam and paying the domex fees) the lady at the window, with her condescending attitude and smirk, told my husband "Thank you, processing will finish in 4-6weeks" 4 TO 6 WEEKS? WHAT :ranting: !!! what else is there? what is she talking about? They only have to send him his visa and passport in the mail and that should only take 1 week, right???

(fast forward 1 week)....

Today I called the DOS number here in the U.S. to try to confirm if the devil was attacking us again and we were put into AP. GREAT NEWS! The nice man on the phone said, "don't worry, the visa was issued and is ready" my husband is in the system for a valid, completed, and issued visa! The DOS officer said that he wasn't aware of Santo Domingo's practices but that we will be getting it either in the mail or have to pick it up (Santo Domingo delivers via Domex, fees paid already). So Any. Day. Now. The mailman should be making a delivery soon..."Si estoy con Dios, quien contra de mi?"

Hope my AP comes to an end soon. I am starting to lose faith. I miss my husband soo much. :(

OMG that is crazy! you would think that they could at least tell you why. All I can say is have patience mija and stay strong!

I don't really understand the whole reason for AP, but I've also read that sending an email to the visa unit in Santo Domingo as well as the NVC will get you response as well. I pray you get some good news soon.
