Hi, I just Filed a K1 and it was recieved by vermont on November 15th and I got my NOA I-797C receipt number but when I call they have record of the receipt number but no information as far as processing yet.

Does anyone know what I can expect as far as them getting back to me?

When can I expect a call or follow up letter with what we need to do next?

How long can I expect this whole process to take from begining to end?

My girl lives in Moldova will they contact her for the interview by phone or by mail?

What should she have prepared for before the interview?

I currently do not have a lawyer, should I get one to make the process go by faster, or is it a waste of money?

Thanks for your help and advice in advance. :-)

HiI I saw your post and decided to reply. We are also Moldova-US couple, have been waiting for our NOA2 (the decision ) from VCS for 8 months and 3 days. The average time for the review is 5 months. It can be even shorter. The whole process is so unpredictable! We did not expect that our case would be reviewed for such long and we don't know when it is over. Yesterday my husband were told to wait 60 days more.

I hope everything will be fine with your case and she can join you by summer.

Lawyers don't make the process faster. VJ is very helpful and you can find a great support hear! She can find the information what she needs for the interview in Chisinau on the official site of US Embassy in Chisinau when it is getting closer to interview.

Good luck !

And be very patient, everything will be fine.

I got my NOA1 on July 20th and at the moment I am still waiting for my NOA2. It will be 5 months on the 29th of this month. It does say that my estimation date will be between 14th and the 20th of January, so fingers crossed. It's nice to know that some June filers are getting approved now, so hopefully things are moving quicker at Vermont.

Hi

I did a K-1 visa last year, it took a long time and mine was at CSC instead of VSC. You pretty much have to deal with the grueling wait for the government to process your application.

The US Embassy in Chisinau is easy to work with, they are friendly and helpful. Once your long wait to get your petition has been approved at USCIS (DHS), it is sent to the Department of State and things get easier and faster.

The interview was simple and last only a few minutes, if you have a legitimate relationship, it will be no problem. It doesnt matter if she knows all the answers to all the questions, as long as she can prove to the interviewer that you have a legitimate relationship.

I dont think your wife can come here while waiting on a K-1 petition, usually the only K-1s that come here on visits are from visa waiver program countries

However, Moldova is a nice place to visit in my opinion. Do you like wine? Moldova was the Napa Valley of the Soviet Union, they have the largest wine cellar in the world, Milesti Mici, it has 55 kilometers of wine underground. You can take a tour in a taxi complete with a traditional moldovan dinner and wine tasting. In the winter, you can go skiing in nearby Bukovel Ukraine or several places in Romania. In the summer, you can go to the beach in Romania or Ukraine. Chisinau has several nice parks to visit and several shopping centers and outdoor markets. There is a nearby park on the Dniester River.

I would NOT suggest using a lawyer, I would suggest instead you carefully look over the guides on this website and read the instructions carefully before submitting the forms.

If you have any questions about Moldova in particular, let me know.

Good Luck
