hi I went to slec website for online registration and the interview part isnt really necessary (or so as i thought. :P) coz it doesnt have an asterisk. Anyway so tried like 3 times to register it without interview date (since I dont have it yet) and it wont get in. So my husband said just put a date and cross it out after printing it and tell the guards in slec that I don't have interview date yet. Is that okay? Will they accept it? thanks and God bless :)

Is your petition approved yet or you just want to go ahead and do your medical exam ahead of time prior to approval?

I think it requires your MNL case # but an estimated interview date will be fine. Wait for the experts to chime in on this one.

Good luck!

Do you have a letter from NVC with the MNL# on it? If so bring that to SLEC for doing the medical.

tintin and mike, im already in nvc stage and sent the packages already waiting for a case complete. :) yes just doing the medicals ahead of time since i have a history of ptb (negative culture results tho) :)

hank, yes i printed a copy of letter sent by nvc (just page 1) where my case number and iin and beneficiary numbers are indicated. i just put an "estimated" interview date. will they accept it if i will tell the guard that i really dont have the interview date yet and i just put an estimated date coz i cannot register online without it?

I have read of others getting the medical done without an interview date but having the letter from NVC.

There are extreme differences between the CR-1 and K-1 visas when it comes to dealing with the Embassy and SLEC. The whole process is almost backwards for the two that it is important to know just how to approach what paperwork you need and don't need.

First, the only advantage of using the online registration for SLEC is to avoid the first queue when you get there. They need the information one way or another and you don't need an interview date to take the medical exam. However, be warned the medical results are only valid for six months. They prefer if you have at least two weeks prior to your interview date, though many get it done in less time.

For the K-1 once you get your MNL case number from the NVC you are golden. You are now in charge of getting your appointments set and getting all the requisite paperwork to the Embassy. That is not the case for a CR-1. You have quite a while to wait after getting your MNL case number and you have much more paperwork to file with the NVC before your interview can be made by the people at the NVC.

If you want the medical done early just make sure you are at SLEC early (no later than 5:30am) and just bring what paperwork you can at the time.

A word of warning, my wife was asked for the NOA2 on the second day before they would immunize her and she had to skip across to the internet cafe opposite SLEC to print out a copy I had emailed her. It seems there are some strange requests for various paperwork of late at both the Embassy and SLEC so be prepared and have access to everything.

Huh? Note our status.

I wasn't intending the advice to be aimed at you. I know you've long past the point of this advice being relevant to your case. Your post was just easy to reply to and brought up the idea that all you would need is a slip of paper from the NVC with your MNL number on it. I was agreeing with you while adding details the OP may find useful. Never assume that because your post is quoted that you are the intended recipient of the details that follow. ;)
