Yippie! now we wait for NOA2 :)

While im waiting for the NOA2, is there anything other than reading and getting everything set up for the next part?

I was reading the NOA that i received today, and i had a few general questions about it.

1. How is Priority date differ from Notice date? Just for clarification what do both of them mean?

2. What does the preference Classification represent?

About looking at our case on the USCIS website, i put in our receipt number as stated on the website, but it says "Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283." Should i wait a little longer to try to look at our status or should i contact the NCSC immediately?

Thank you in advance.

1. Your priority date is the important date here. This is the official date on which your petition was filed with the USCIS. Notice date is the date they notified you of this.

2. Because of the high amount of petitions and visa applications received each year from family members of US citizens and residents, family based visas have preference categories in a preference system. In this system, certain categories of family based immigrant visas have numerical limits each year to how many visas can be issued for that specific category. Some classes of immediate relatives have no numerical limit. Visas for parents, spouses and unmarried children under 21 of US citizens are immediately available and there is no numerical limit. Basically, your husband can apply for a visa as soon as the petition is approved, while if he was your brother for example, he would have had to wait years for a visa number to become available to him.

lol I totally forgot why I even asked that, had to read the post and everything all over again! The reason I asked at the time was that you were worried about not being able to see your case status online and I was going to tell you that those with MSC numbers usually don't see their cases online right away! BUT you've already gotten your NOA2 so CONGRATSSS!!!
