If she knows her father's name she should put it wherever it is asked for on the US immigration forms. My husband was listed as illegitimate on his BC with no father listed but he knows his father and has a relationship with him. UNKNOWN would have been a lie.

This may not be the case with your fiancee but if she knows her father and has any plans to petition him in the future then putting UNKNOWN will be big issue later on down the line.

So to recap, if she knows her father's name she should put it. If she doesn't she can put UNKNOWN.

I met my fiance on philippinesmatch.com and her fathers name isn't listed on her birth certificate. I didn't know what to do on the paperwork.

Put Unknown

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
