Question...

After NOA2, we wait for package from the embassy.. Then make appointment for interview...

Is there a maximum time we have to go for the interview???

Here is why I ask...

We have school age children, So we would prefer to go to Moscow for the interview when the children are off from school... Because of the delays at Vermont.. We are now thinking it would be best to just wait and plan the interview, and a vacation, in Moscow in June..

My NOA1 was June 14th, so I am just past 5 months.. Although I am hopeful to receive NOA2 soon, this whole process is turning me into a pessamist. So I am thinking it will be at least 2 more months..

But lest say we receive NOA2 on Dec 15th.. Would be be able to schedule a June 10th interview in Moscow? or is this too long to make them wait.??

thanks,

Christopher

I think U should check this out but I am almost sure, for sure, that the NOA2 is only good for four (4) months from the date of issue. That means if it's issued on Feb 1, 2012 then U have until June 1, 2012 to get the interview thing done. Good luck

I think the NOA2 is valid for 4 months from issue, too.

Are your fiancee and children in the States now? The actual K-1 visa is valid for 6 months from the date of the medical, so if she is in Russia she could have the interview, and wait for you to meet up with the children(are they yours?) in Mosow in June.

She is in Russia with her 14 year old daughter, I am in USA with my 16 year old son...

I want to be with her when she has the interview in Moscow. Since we will need a few days for medical exam, we were thinking to make it into a vacation and spend about 10 days there together with our children.

I will continue search the USCIS website for info but some info is kinda difficult to find on that site....

thanks

You are both correct that validity of the NOA2 is limited. What both of you neglected to mention is the Embassy has the ability to re-validate the petition if an interview has not yet taken place by the date listed on the notice.

I did send an email to the embassy for clarification....

I am feeling fustrated and sad.....

We were thinking we would have NOA2 in November, and have New year holiday in Moscow... As time went by and I see that VSC is 6-8 months.... :-(... So then we think we can plan everything for March... But with work, and children in school.....Now we look into June but maybe NOA2 expire by then?? ####### !!!

We skype 3-4 times a week, 2-4 hours... we fall asleep in front of our computers...She helps my son with his math homework on skype.. He is an advanced honor student and she is a math professor... Her daughter is just the sweetest young woman, she says I am the only boyfriend of her mothers that she ever like.... Our children are so happy for us and with us....

UGGGG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I go to visit now... then in 2-3 months to Moscow.. This may be cost prohibitive...

Months ago, we would joke about her to go to Cuba, then Bahamas, then I could go get her.. I am in Florida... But we want to do things properly.. Have a happy family and live happily ever after......

Oh heck.... sorry for the rant... maybe someone can give some kind words to easy my fustration....

Re-read the section of my previous post above. Once you have your NOA2, see if you can schedule an interview date best suited to the needs of all involved. The Embassy might work with you on this (they may not, but you won't know unless you try).

Thank you...

I will wait and see....

wait for answer from Embassy in Moscow, and see if they can extend time if needed....

The fustrating part is.. we wait, we plan, and wait...

I can go visit, but then to go again in 2 months.. thats where finances come in.... If I knew it was 6 months later, that would be fine....

and Thanks Ryan.. I will look into an extension if needed..

I think you should be a little more positive about when you will get your NOA2. VSC seems to be speeding up their process. I is very possible you could get your approval in the next 2 weeks. The NOA2 is only good for 4 months but as stated before you can submit to have your application reviewed again. I would also agree that you dont need to attend her interview. You could avoid one visit for that reason. Then you can work out a trip to visit and bring her home. Good luck with your NOA 2.
