On question 25, I have my income in 2011 listed as $30k, though in 2010 and 2009 I filed $0. Here is my attached explanation for NVC. Is this sufficient or do I need to write in more detail? Do I need to explain why I did not need any money? ("The money that I had on hand was enough to support myself for those two years")

25)

FOR THE YEARS 2010 AND 2009, MY TOTAL INCOME FILED WAS $0 ON MY

FEDERAL TAX RETURNS DUE TO NOT EARNING ANY INCOME DURING THOSE TWO

YEARS. IN THOSE TWO YEARS I TOOK A SABBATICAL OVERSEAS IN VIETNAM

BEGINNING ON APRIL, 01 2009.

Thank you

Did you actually file the tax returns? If not, your explanation is a lie. If you filed and the income was zero, no explanation is needed. If you did not file, hand write in the space. "Not required to file. Income below filing threshold."

My plan was to file back taxes for those years, but after reading some old threads, it appears this is not necessary. I will write what you suggested in the bank on the i864 and will not include an extra sheet.
