Hi everyone - I've decided to start an AP tracker for all members who have been waiting in AP for over one year. Please fill out the questions below to the best of your ability and I will start a tracking list much like the one in the "New Islamabad AP Tracker" group. Please share as much information as you are comfortable with. I understand if some want privacy, but the more information we can gather about our cases, the better our chances are of discovering any patterns. At the very least we may get some peace of mind from sharing our stories with others in the same situation. Thank you! :)

(Questions marked with an * are necessary to input your information into the tracker.)

*What was your initial interview date? (year, month, day)

*What visa category did you apply for? (CR1, K1, etc)

*What is the gender of the beneficiary?

*What embassy (country) was the interview through?

Has the beneficiary lived in (or have ties to) any other countries? (please explain)

Does the beneficiary have a common muslim name?

What is the name of the beneficiary?

What is the beneficiary's religious background?

What is the beneficiary's nationality?

What is the beneficiary's highest education level?

What is the beneficiary's profession?

Does the beneficiary travel frequently?

Has the beneficiary ever lived in or travelled to the Middle East/North African region?

Were you asked to provide additional proof or documents after the interview?

Do you have a significant age difference between you & your spouse/fiance? (applies to CR1 & K1)

Are there any other red flags in your case that you know of? (please explain)

Has the embassy requested any new forms because they expired? (what forms?)

Has the embassy done a field investigation (that you know of)?

Has the embassy contacted you to request any other information?

Did you contact a senator or congressman for help?

Did you contact the ambassador of your embassy?

Did you write to/contact any other government agency for help? (please explain)

Did you file a Writ of Mandamus? (please explain and give dates)

*Was your case sent back to USCIS at any point? (please explain and give dates)

*Has your visa been approved, denied, or are you still pending in AP? (please give dates)

Any other information about your case that is important to know?

Did you answer all 3 questions? You have to answer "Other" for the other 2 questions...sorry if it is confusing - it was the only way to get that many options...

Hi Liane,

Our case spent 16 months in AP before I filed a Writ of Mandamus. About 4 weeks after filing the Writ or case was taken out of AP and sent back to USCIS. The embassy said we had a lack of a bona fide relationship. In a few weeks we were sent a NOIR and we appealed. Our case was reaffirmed and sent back to the embassy June 2012.

We have not been given another interview yet. Instead our case was placed back in AP and has been there 4 months so far. The embassy says they are reviewing our new documents and will give us an interview once that's done. We have no idea when they will finish their review and we could be looking at spending a year or more back in AP.

My husband is the beneficiary. We have an age difference. I have been divorced and have kids by my ex-husband. The embassy made a big deal out of the fact that we had a small wedding and that my husband and I only knew each other a short time before we got married. At the time we received the NOIR we had been married for close to 3 years. I contacted my congressman's office in October 2011 and they sent emails every month to the embassy. They are still helping me by sending emails to the embassy.

I have not listed all of the details of the NOIR for the sake of privacy. I hope what I have listed helps you.

Hey Carolyn,

Thanks for sharing the details of your case. What was your first interview date? Were you put in AP right after your first interview? I wanted to ask you before I posted your info because I thought you had more than one interview? And do you remember what date you filed the writ of mandamus?

Have you tried contacting the embassy since to find out what happened and why they put you back into AP? Have you gotten a U.S. Senator or Congressman involved to make an inquiry about your case? It's very strange that they told you the visa was issued and then you are back in AP again.
