We only did federal. I think I looked into getting state transcripts, but it was much more difficult and expensive.

We took in our state taxes, if for no other reason to show how much we were getting robbed. Wife's IO didn't even want to look at them, USCIS only specifies federal tax returns, and that is only for the three year marriage application. We also took in our joint property taxes, IO didn't want to see those either, she was far more interested in a completely worthless joint utility bill, but we had those too.

Hearing on the news that some states want you to bring in a worthless utility bill to prove residence. Just shows what kind of idiots we have running this country. Any utility company does not care what names are on the bill. Use a database to learn who owns that property and go after that owner or corporation to collect on an unpaid bill. Gas and electrical companies never asked me for a form of ID could use any name I so desired, but the address has to be correct or your service would not be turned on. Same with cable and cellular phone companies, they couldn't care less what name you used, and they don't even care about your credit rating because you pay in advance for their services.

For a driver's license or a state ID, have to bring in your birth certificate, not interested in seeing one from a foreign country, but if from a foreign country want to see either proof of US citizenship or your green card. So why is the USCIS telling us to bring in a state driver's license or ID? Don't they trust their own green card?
