Hello, everyone.

Recently I found out that my great-grandfather was a US citizen at the time my grandfather was born, however my grandfather was born in another country, but I understand this would still have made my grandfather a US citizen. He never lived in the US, though, but moved to the UK, where my father was born. My father never claimed citizenship, and died some years ago. I had heard that there is a way that you can claim US Citizenship through a grandparent, and I was wondering if it's possible in my case? I understand it's a wobbly claim at best, but if I have even a slim chance of succeeding, then I'm going to try and go for it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Nik

Sorry, but your family's US Citizenship claims are too far removed for you to claim citizenship or get as greencard. Your grnadfather MAY (depending on some specific rules regarding how long your great-grandfather was in the USA) have had a claim to US citizenship, but your father would not, and you would not.
