My wife's parents will be flying to Las Vegas from Manila on November 5th. They have never left the Philippines. Is there anyone with experience having POE in Honolulu then flying to a different city in the USA? They have 3 hours between flights. What will they need to do? Do they have to go to another building after landing on the international flight to get on the flight to Las Vegas? They will be flying on Hawaiian airlines. Any help would be great

They will most likely be driven by shuttle from arrival to customs then walk down stares pick up luggage walk somemore and check in for the flight to Vegas. Don't worry HNL is full of Filipinos working at HNL and traveling, they only need ask if they get confused.

Honolulu is very easy and 3 hours should be more than enough, we went through with under 2 hours between flights and had time to spare.

They will enter the immigration room (lower level) after leaving the plane, they will go to the counters to the left after they enter that room. There is an immigration officer at the entrance to the room to guide them to the correct counter so no worries. After going through immigrations they will collect their luggage and go through customs, after customs there is a baggage check-in just to the left at the front of the customs room where they can check their bags back in. From the baggage check-in there are double doors (to the left once more) that will go to the Hawaiian gates. There are people there to assist if needed.

When I flew HA in January 2012 from MNL-SFO there was a change in buildings from International to Domestic terminal. After customs we picked up our baggage and rechecked it with HA employees who handled the baggage process. It was relatively painless. There was a designated area that we rolled our carts to. 3 hours should be ample time for them to transition to their connecting flight.
