Hi All..I have been on here for months but this is my first time posting any questions. I am a US citizen and my husband is a Ghanian..I am filling out paperwork for a k3 petition and I am completely confused about question 19 on the I-129f form. My husband and I were married in Ghana but he works abroad in Cyprus. Do I put in question 19 that I am requesting for his file to be sent to Cyprus Embassy or Ghana embassy in which we were married. I am conflicted because under the I-129f instructions under #11. it states that under the LIFE act, k3 applicants must choose the embassy in which we were married.

I called the USCIS and spoke to 2 different people who told me that they will more than likely have his interview at where his current address states which is in Cyprus.

Can anyone help, pls I am so confused and want to fill out this paperwork to start this process! Thanks so much to all VJ members..you all are so helpful and encouraging :D:help:

The interview for the K3 must take place at the immigrant visa unit the has jurisdiction over the place of marriage. If you were married in Ghana, you must put Accra Ghana.

However, if you wanted to wait until the CR-1 goes through, you cold have that interview at the immigrant visa unit that has jurisdiction over your spouses country of residence. If your spouse has legal residency in Cyprus, he could have that interview in Nicosia.

akatagirl,

Why are you asking the USCIS about a DoS issue? Especially people who are trained only in the most superficial aspects of USCIS issues?

Yodrak,

I asked them these questions because as you can tell..I am still becoming familiar with this entire process and asking questions whereever it is I can get help...Its apparent though VJ members are far more knowledgeable on this issues than they are
