Are we there yet? What's next?

I just paid the IV packet for the petitioner (me) and benificiary (my wife) today. I'll be sending her packet like form DS-230,police clearance,birth and marriage certificate etc...

So my question is,What's next after sending the NVC the packet with firm DS-230? How long will it take for them to review our DS-230 and when will we hear from them for the next step?

If everything's okay and there's no request for additional documents, affidavits, etc.; it should be ready within 20 days of your filing or less. This is for normal processing but if you read around this forum, we still have members waiting for their NVC papers to be completed and have been in this process for more than 30 days. I have read a couple of people being in this process for the last 90 days.

So the quick answer to your quick question is "it should be ready in less than 30 days" from your date of filing. Add 10 to 20 days for each time that you have to send back a piece of document or information to the NVC Office.

from my experience, if you already sent IV Package and there's no RFE..they will review your package for 1 week.. After 1 week you will get case complete (if you call NVC by phone after 1 week ) . After case completed, you have to wait 2-3 weeks to get the interview date e-mail from NVC ..good luck
