Hi all,

I took some time off yesterday to take my wife to the ssn office and the dmv to get the dhs stamp removed and to get the temporary visitor legend removed from her ssn card and learner permit, respectively.

The dmv was fast because we went to the garden city location in nassau county. The ssn office for our residence is in jamaica, queens, ny. Yesterday the ssn office in jamaica was packed up until the security checkpoint area. Thats two levels of being packed. Thats when we decided to go to the dmv instead of the ssn office.

Can we go to another SSN center or is it required that we must go to the one serving our residence address.

I should also note that it has been about 14 days since the grencard arrived... is it too early to go to ssn office?

Please let me know.

Chigs
