My visa interview schedule is finally set - it's on 10/31 in guangzhou. Anyone knows what to expect at interview? The letter says it's at 12:30PM. Some people say that we should be checking in around 7:30AM. Is this necessary? What time do they open? I just don't want to go there during their lunch break. (Do they even have any lunch break? Just curious.)

When will we get notified if we have passed the interview? Is it the same day? I can't find any interview process info. Anyone would like do pinch in experience? I know I should arrive there a day before. But not sure how many days I should stay and we're nervous about our interview. :help:

P4, interview instruction : "Attention: As of Monday, December 6, 2010, Immigrant Visa (IV) applicants processing at Guangzhou will be required to go to the Consular Office at 12:30pm on the date specified on the appointment letter for fingerprint and document intake. The applicant(s) will then be required to return the following morning at 7:30am for their interview."

-->this is really confusing. So they said interview date is on 10/31 12:30pm. That means we would have to return next day morning? Line up at the door around 7:30AM?

Yep. That's what you do. Have doc intake day and then interview next day.

Anything can happen. You could get approved at the interview or put on administrative hold for a month. You just don't know. Take it as it comes. Seems most are approved right away. I was put on hold for a month for no apparent reason but was finally given the visa.

Good luck.

At least two days, likely three days if you include the medical. My family's experience was Monday for medical, Wednesday for document intake, Thursday for interview.

Follow the instructions of the GUZ IV unit.

Good luck on your visa journey.

I love the scammers - I always try to order 2 bowls of hokkien mee.

They look at me odd, for some reason, trying to overcome my need for prawn noodles with their need to get me in the door of their sweatshop.

Oh Wait...

;)

Seriously though - DO PAY ATTENTION to the hawkers pushing air tickets - sometimes you can get a decent deal, that fabulous 600 usd flight from her hometown to your hometown. But ya gotta sling the silliness, to weed out the absolute cheats.
