My mother is hesitant to send her tax returns, account numbers, and social security numbers etc overseas for my fiancee and her interview... just in case they get lost/misplaced and fall into the wrong hands.... Does anyone know if she can black out these details and still have her I-134 info be accepted for cosponsorship???

thanks

I can see her point. I would feel the same. I think it will be fine to black out. If she wants her info to go straight to the embassy, she can do that too. Seal it up and include a cover page that it is in support of name, case, etc. Some people send it to the beneficiary sealed up with " to be opened by consulate official only" written on it. I don't share my financial info with my own children so mailing overseas to a future relative that I don't know very well would bother me too. Don't take it personally. Some of us just keep our business private. In fact I wouldn't even be a sponsor except to my husband.

The I-134 is not binding (meaning, is not as critical) and for what is worth, they did not look at ours; and I had minimal info there. In fact, they did not look at anything a the interview and it only took a grand total of 15 minutes with 2-3 questions. It seems they had already decided prior to the interview and it was only a formality. You don't have to include every detail, even of you have it (i.e. just make sure you cover about 25-30k for 2 people in household). Later on, When you do the 864, is when the financial count

My now wife had all the supporting docs though, but I have given them to her personally in a trip I had prior to the interview (I was not there at the interview, work reasons). Generally, Warszawa is 'easy' and simple, others can confirm.

Thanks for your response Gosia & Tito... I am hoping that your experience is the same for my fiancee as well, but she lives in London and her interview is at the London Embassy... not Warsaw
