guns are a reality, I also endorse the advise of securing guns around kids, but the idea that we need more laws is misguided.

Also if you look at the number quoted, 2/3 of those killed are not from accidents but from murder.

So the actual rate is 4 per 1000,000.

Wonder what it is for swimming pools, dirt bikes or auto accidents?

Bet all those are a lot higher.

Bottom line, be careful but life is still gonna happen sometimes.

Please enlighten us on what forms of discipline you not only approve of but what you think actually works.

Time out. Punishment of negative behavior is not as effective as is reward of the opposite, good behaviors. You reward a behavior when you pay attention to it. You punish that which you ignore. It works on people of all ages.
