hi everyone i would like to share my experience during my medical exam at SLEC yesterday.. to those who will be on medical exam relax.. and PRAY.. God always listens and always TRUST him.. you will be fine.. :)

so i slept like past 12mn since im from my duty 2pm-10pm shift life of a nurse so tired from a toxic duty.. i cannot sleep because i have to wake up 3am to get ready.. so i tried sleeping and heard the alarm already.. 3am ok time to get up and get ready...

4:20am we left since im from pampanga so we left early thanks to my parents for accompanying me and driving for me. :) and yes we got lost in manila so it consumed a lot of time hahaha

5:50am we arrived at SLEC ok so i thought the line was not that long until i saw people inside 1st floor lol.. i registered online so they gave me the online line no. 18.. if you want to go a little bit faster pre register http://www.slec.ph/us/registration/ it will save you from writing on tables or on the walls. hehehe its a good start... since i scheduled my interview online i didnt have that white paper appointment letter from nvc i have the online interview confirmation just print that and have 2 photocopies (make sure you have a letter or email from nvc indicating your MNL number for confirmation) the online registration doesnt have case number on it, passport and 2 photocopies, 3 2x2 pictures with your name written at the back, and 2 copies of online registration at st lukes.. at the first window you will ask for your index finger on the biometrix 4x and they will take a picture of you..

6:50am the cashier opens at this time you will proceed to the 5th floor for payment.. ok dont use the larger elevator that is for those who are on tb treatment all of them are wearing mask.. as the elevator opens someone will tell you 5th floor magbabayad po? dito po ang cashier.. just right next to the elevator.. i paid 9,589 for the medical fee.. after that you will be given receipt with the checklist u will use this althroughout the process.. they told me to go to 3rd floor for xray

7am 3rd floor so i went and no one is at the reception many people are waiting.. some are people with face mask. hehehe i waited standing at the reception area as soon as the clerk is there she gave me a form fill up your name last mestrual period, signature some kind of waiver. after give it back to them and you will be called... the SLEC prioritize senior citizens so they will be the 1st one to be accommodated.. they called 5 lolas.. and then they called my name we are the 1st 6 people for xray its funny observing them at the changing room they are like kids.. haha anyways u have to wear gown remove you upper shirt and underwear and do not tie the gown at the back.. when all the lolas are done i went in (tie you long hair) they ask me to put my chin on the machine look up and u will see your name there hands at the back and inhale.. then your done im so nervous of the xray bec i dont want to have any problem with it. if they see something suspicious you will undergo sputum exam for 3 consecutive days and 2months delay for the result.. if you are positive you have to be treated for 6months and take medications there! ok so i saw my xray after and praying.. you can have xray before medical to check if its normal. but of course st lukes will not honor that they will have their own reading...

7:30 i went to 4th floor for laboratory.. you always give the paper at the reception and when you're done they will sign the part that you're done with.. of course im still with the seniors. lol they will have blood extracted and have urine specimen collection for child bearing women.. so if you want to pee save it for this section to save time and drink a lot of water. ahahaha

7:50am i went to 5th floor for VS taking ok they said VS but they only checked on my BP. huh? that should be Blood pressure taking area. ahahaha and then went on line for wieght height and visual acuity..

8:30 they called my name again for the physical examination.. im number 1 for the doctor at rm10.. the doctor was very nice,, she asked me a lot of questions like previous illness, hospitalization, medical history, exposure to people with tb. oh my i told her im a nurse so i guess im exposed.. then she asked me to change to a gown ok you're not completely naked.. hehehe she will check on your hands, your lymph nodes, your ears for ear piercing (if you have extra pierce they will have another blood test for you) had breast palpation, and checked for hemorrhoids.. and said ok you can proceed to 2nd floor for immunization interview..

9am 2nd floor they will give you a waiver for immunization and have to sign it.. then they will call you and the doctor will ask you if your have records chicken pox marks if you had chicken pox i dont have any marks but i had it before.. she told me that i will have 4 vaccines.. ouch! MMR, HEPA B, Chicken pox and tDAp.. she said i can proceed to 3rd floor for check out..

9:30am the receptionist told me to come back at 1:30pm for further instructions.. i heard her on the other applicant to come back tom.. oh my i have to be back this pm what seem to be the problem.. i was praying that it will be a good news.. im with my mom all the time.. we sneaked in when there are lots of people at the lobby and told the guard she will just go to the CR. hahaha

so we went out where my dad was waiting and ate breakfast.. we didnt want to go far since its hard to look for a parking area.. we waited at the car but its so hot so my mom and i decided to go back to st lukes.. that was 11:30am we waited until 1:30am and i went to 3rd floor they told me to go to 2nd floor and wait for my name to be called.. ok im praying that it will be immunization...

3pm they called me at the immunization room.. im so happy because i know it'll be over.. the nurse interview me and prepared 4 vaccines.. i told her that its easy to inject than to receive the injection since i always do that giving patients itramuscular injections so im the patient now...the 1st 3 are not that bad but the hepa b was painful!huhu

3:10 i went to the releasing counter.. yehey final stop. they called my name and got my passport and let me sign in and waited again.. 3:45pm they called my name they gave the CD, immunization record which will be given on embassy during interview and ask for the 2 2x2 pictures.. and im done!

i completed the medical exam for one day.. some will have 2nd day depending on the result.. so if all is normal you can complete it for one day..

i prayed and thanked the Lord for guiding me with the entire process.. :)

next step is the interview and praying for a successful result.. goodluck to all of us.. God bless.. :)

Something is not clear to me... What does "Medical Record On Process" stamp means??? Im already done with all the exams, After the immunization interview they instructed me to checkout. After checking out they asked me to come back the next day for the vaccines. I came back but I had to tell them that I needed to take those vaccines together with my father because he was rescheduled due to Sputum Test.. They stamped this "Medical Record on Process".. What does this mean?? Based on what I've read here it's either for "Sputum" or "Immunization" stamp on the 2nd day?? Can you please tell me the different SLEC stamps and their corresponding meaning??

You would do better to start a new topic with your questions, rather than jump into a 2 year old topic.

Question I have, is why do you want to wait on your vaccinations? It matters not when you get them, you medical is still limited to the date you started (which limits your visa eligibility), no matter what happens with your father.

They did the stamp because you are delaying the vaccinations, this way when you finally come back for vaccinations they will know why things were delayed.

it's because we're waiting for the culture result ... My father wants us to be vaccinated after we see the result..

Glad things went so well for you. Sometimes things fall into place well and you get done in one day. Great to see they had all the shots. Many applicants are told that certain shots are not in stock and you have to come back for them.

MMR sometimes brings side effects for the first 2 to 3 days, so if you get a fever or a cough, don't worry about it. Those are the side effects, and they will pass shortly.

Some vaccinations burn going in. Sorry it happened to you. I hear mostly that Tdap burns, but my wife felt nothing when she got hers.

Agent Zero, like Hank said there is no advantage to delaying your vaccines. Your six month time limit to get to the US started yesterday anyway. If you let it expire you will need a whole new exam.

Thanks for the info... we can't proceed to the interview coz my father was the main person being petitioned we're just his dependents...

OK.

IF his is negative all will be good, but if he is positive he will have to complete 6 months of DOT, and you will need to complete your vaccinations and get your visa.

im aware of the eligibility of the medical ... im just scared of the circumstances of the stamp "Medical on Process proceed to Counter A"..
