Hi All,

Nice to make everyone's acquaintances :)

I have an issue and hope someone could shed some light on what are my possible options.

I sent off all the required documents to NVC (from UK) through my lawyer in the US. I included my original Military service record as they had requested all documents to be original or certified copy. I received an email from the NVC few days back requesting for the Military Service Records again.

I'm partly annoyed as now its more than 12 months since I started this process and it's going to get delayed again for this. I haven't heard anything useful from my lawyer yet and I was wondering is there anyway I could contact the NVC directly and let them know that I have already sent the requested document? or do you think it's a waste of time and they have lost one of my document?.

To get an official copy of my records from the MOD I have to file the form(DPA SAR Form 1694) and I'm not sure how long that would take, does anyone know how long it usually take, I left the service back in 2002.

This journey is very tiresome and it seems like there are more hurdles and hoops to jump than anything I have faced before in my life...... but I love my wife and that's worth the journey:)

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Yes you can contact the NVC directly...

1-603-334-0700. It'll be 10-20min on hold, but then you'll speak to someone directly.

Have your case # ready. You'll need to give that, as well as name & birthdate of both the petitioner and beneficiary.

Best of luck.

I would ask your lawyer of photocopies of the packet he sent off to NVC (he better had done that for your sake). Than I would most definitely call NVC and ask to talk to a supervisor and say your Military records were already sent could you take another loom (sometimes people are looking at something and don;t know what it is so they rather RFE u than figure it out). Ask saisd supervisor can you send a photocopy because optabining another could be months of processing and delay. See what they say.

But get that lawyer to fess up whats up.
