Change of plans: from Fiance visa to L1 company transfer

Hi all,

My girlfriend (US citizen) has petitioned for a fiancé visa for myself (South African). However, in the mean time my company (US based with offices in South Africa) has offered to transfer me to the US on an L1 visa which they will petition for.

What is the best thing to do under the circumstances? Can we, or should we, cancel the fiancé application first? Would this negatively affect my chances of getting the L1 visa, even after I've cancelled the fiance process? I would hate to be denied the L1 after having cancelled the fiance visa... this would probably be a "train smash" for us.

Any suggestions or experience would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I wouldn't cancel- you are allowed to have two (or more) petitions going at the same time.
