aha, but then what if you're in a mind spot where you Just Can't Make A Decision? Because, like I imagine Jodee is feeling right now...if at the moment you feel like past decisions have been bad ones, or not particularly good ones, you can't know if you're making a good one. Yanno?

This indecision's buggin' me.

Jodee, we can peel back the onion of our lives looking for patterns and answers, but it's a never-ending process. In the end, we are mysteries, even to ourselves.

So when you're going through multiple losses (and they always seem to come in combos), it often helps to remember that someday, we too will pass. It makes the present a lot more precious. If you can enjoy the gifts that God gave you today, you'll have lived your life well, and that's the real key to it all.

You may be coming to a juncture where the family you felt you didn't need before becomes of paramount importance. You may want to re-connect while there's still time. These are the ones God gave you. They're the ones who will drive you crazy, but they're the ones you're supposed to take care of. And they're supposed to take care of you, too.

In the end, all the cliches are true: that life is short and love is the only thing that matters. So leave the navel gazing for another time, because you're going to be too busy for that today. Wear something nice, treat yourself to a comfort meal, and enjoy the moment because it will never come again. And know that you will someday see your aunt and kitten again. You have nothing to worry about!
