It can be addressed to the embassy or to USCIS.

It needs to be translated. If they don't offer an international police report, you can ask somebody who's fluent in both original language and English to translate it and write a statement saying that this person is fluent in both languages - sign and date it.

Depending on your country of course - some countries are more strict than others.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

I plan to be there for the interview...so could I translate it? I am fluent in both languages and have test results from my employer that prove it.

Indeed. You don't need to prove it, you just need to attest to it by writing a statement. Here's an example of a letter(fill in the blanks with your info of course); http://www.visajourney.com/content/translations

It's generally suggested that the translator signing that statement not be one of the parties involved in the immigration process at hand, though. There's no hard, fast rule, but if you want to avoid extra scrutiny over your translations, get someone else to sign off. I often translate our documents and have someone unrelated to the process review them and then sign the certifying statement.

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.
