Anyone have any information regarding selling your home? We're curious if there is any tax advantage to selling prior to becoming a landed immigrant? OR does it not matter?

Hi there. You'll want to read this thread:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/319591-selling-primary-residence-in-canada/page__view__findpost__p__4782151

Basically, if your home was your primary residence prior to immigration then there are no capital gains taxes. However, if you decide to keep it and use it as an income property then you will pay capital gains when you come to sell it later.
