DS-260 Beneficial or Detrimental to file prior to having supporting documents?

I am ready to file my DS-260 albeit I am still waiting for police/court records which I expect to have within about 2-3 weeks. Would it be prudent to wait until all documents are available and submit everything together or submit the application now with documents to follow? I don't want to cause any delays.


  • 04/14/12 - Married
    05/10/12 - Filed I-130 Petition
    05/17/12 - NOA1 Received
    05/22/12 - I797C Received
    08/02/12 - NOA2 Received
    08/30/12 - DS3032(DS261) & I864 bill received, sent, & paid
    09/01/12 - Receive I-864 Package
    09/08/12 - Submit I-864 Package
    09/14/12 - Receive & pay IV Invoice
    09/18/12 - IV Payment Complete & DS-260 Unlocked
    09/20/12 - Submit DS-260
    10/04/12 - Submit DS-260 Supporting Documents
    10/10/12 - Medical
    10/15/12 - Resubmitted I-864 Package
    10/18/12 - Case Complete
    11/01/12 - Case expedited to Montreal
    11/14/02 - Interview
    11/14/02 - APPROVED

Since the DS-260 isn't included with the IV package (as it's an online form), you can most definitely do the form now and send the package later. If you simply wait, you're just wasting time for them to review the form.

Have fun with it, it's long XD Make sure you print out the review pages at the end, as well as the confirmation page, for your own records.

Yeah I already completed it, after NUMEROUS crashes. What should have taken perhaps 45 minutes took like 1-1/2 hours at least. And NOW I'm having trouble actually submitting it. Six attempts and it finally went :(

That'd be why. DOS's site (like most government sites) are designed for IE, and IE only. They don't test (or care) if it works in other browsers.
