Heyo.

I have my CR1 interview in London in a few days. Since I sent my original birth certificate, a police certificate, our marriage certificate and all the other required docs to the NVC months ago, I.. only have like, my passport + passport pictures (and appointment letter) to take with me.

I've already been through this once - I got a K1 visa before we were married, and I remember having to take a whole sheaf of documents with me on that interview.

I know the difference here is that I didn't send them to the NVC last time, and this time I have - but I'd like some reassurance that I'm not overlooking anything! I've read through the guidelines on the London embassy website a bunch of times, but yeah. Just wanna make sure I'm not overlooking anything obvious :).

Thanks guys.

I took copies of everything and a stack of relationship evidence 'just in case', but I didn't need any of it. The checklist that came with your interview letter should confirm that you have provided NVC with everything that was required.

Good luck.

Yep, my checklist is all Ys, Os and Fs, one $ and one C. Not sure what the C means ("C = Direct inquiries to your consulate / embassy") but it's only the instructions so I'm not really too worried about that.

How was your interview, if you don't mind me asking? For my K1 interview they asked a few basic questions about my then fiancée, how many siblings she has, what job she has, etc.. I'm guessing it's about the same for the CR1?

Nervous. I dunno why, the last one went fine, lol.

Thanks, I guess it is a pretty unique story, lol.

I'm also sure it'll be fine, but I think it's human nature to be totally worried by this kind of stuff. Stop it, human nature. Stop!

We took copies of everything too but didn't need them. Better to have too much than not enough.

Our interview was more like an informal chat with a very nice lady who seemed genuinely delighted to tell me I'd been approved. All the nerves and worries are usually just a waste of energy. It's not scary at all.

My interview was painless. I was asked the date of my wedding several times and I was questioned about my last entry to the US when I was taken into secondary. I think she thought that I had not been allowed in and so was confused about how I managed to get married in Georgia a month later. But apart from that there really were no questions. You will be fine.
