Deferred Action Applicants Start Receiving Approvals

Quote from CBS News: "The Homeland Security Department is notifying a small group of people this week that they have been approved to stay in the country for two years as part of President Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. The first approvals come just three weeks after U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services started accepting applications for the program".

So illegals get approved in just three weeks while we LEGAL folks filing at the VSC wait for...guess how long?!?....9 months on average.

I read somewhere else that USCIS has not hired any additional workers to process all these deferred action applications, and VSC and CSC are servicing these applications as well.

And what's worse is USCIS expects a BIG spike in applications from illegals, once word gets out that approvals are being granted. And this in turn will cause further processing delays for us. Has anyone noticed how slow VSC has been in approving December i-751 filers in the last few weeks?

I guess we RoC folks are fortunate to at least already be with our spouses, I can only imagine how frustrating these delays must be to those applying for K1 fiancee visas or those in the AOS stage, like my sister, for example, who has never been out of status, not even for a day, and has been waiting for 77 days and counting for her EAD, while these illegals start getting their EAD approvals in three weeks!!

Mate I tell you it is extremely unfair. My husband and I have been apart throughout our process (started October 2011) and it is just killing us completely. Although we are near the end, just waiting on an interview at every stage has been terrible customer service where they have lost our forms, to requesting evidence that we did include, to no one knows what is going on. Three weeks is a complete insult to people like me and yourself.

Being with spouses is a fair deal, but it does not erase the emotional, psychological, and other several problems faced with waiting this long. UNFAIR is an understatement! Some employers give you grief, you cant breeze through checks at airports, and so on. No justification for the oppression and logics would have dictated better treatment…

Perhaps this issue will influence U.S. citizens' votes one way or the other come November.
