My fiancee has her interview on thursday.

Is it true that once she gets her sealed packet, that she has to go to the border to get it signed off before flying to the US?

I thought she had to keep it sealed until she finally comes to the US (on the 16th hopefully)

She is gonna arrive at the SF airport.

No. You do not need to go to the border for anything. She will hand over her sealed envelope at her POE, which will be the SF airport for her. Have her carry the sealed envelope in her carry-on bag.

If she goes to the border crossing and they take her envelope and process her there, then that is it. That will be her POE and she cannot then go back and try and re-enter the US on a flight to SF. The K-1 is a one time entry visa.

Thats what i thought.

Its just that she was told today by someone at the clinic that she had to go to the border first.

It thru me off, but i told her it wasn't true.

Thanks for the reassurance.

I do not know if they still include it or not, but they used to give a letter with the envelope that tells about the border crossings, where to go, and info on crossing. I believe it also states you do not have to choose one of those border crossings. They just put that info in there because a lot of people do enter the US that way from Juarez. Tell her she can get on her flight and enter as you had planned with no visit to the border crossing and no problems. Good luck to you both! :)
