Work Visa

Hi guys.

I came to United states in 2008 on a tennis scholarship. Graduated summer 2011 with a Recreational Administration degree and applied for OPT (Optional Practical Training). Did that as a tennis professional in a tennis club which is related to my degree. Then I got married 5 months ago to a US citizen and filed documents for a green card, but things didn't work out between us and we are in the middle of divorce right now. When we divorce we have to pull out my green card application. I'm going to apply for work visa in April because that's when they are available but my question is how do I stay here until April and is there going to be a problem for me to keep working where I work right now, still working at the same tennis club where I did my OPT by the way. And if I stay and keep working is there going to be a problem with me going to the lawyer and applying for a work visa?

Any information helps,

Thank you!

If you overstay more than 180 days you earn a 3 year ban more than a year a 10 year. There is no forgiveness for work visas. Under what authorization would you continue working ? How would it look for a work visa to be working illegally in the US. It looks like you have to leave until you get a work visa. A work visa is applied for by the company that wants to being the immigrant worker to the US not the worker to be. It is rather pricy and they have to show that they will not be denying work to an available US resident.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
