Hello guys,

My fiancee(wife now) has been here for a month now & we have applied for adjustment of status. I was thinking about applying for an ID card for her. Our state laws suggest that she can be issued a temperary ID card but will be valid until I-94 expires. By the time, it's all said & done, it will be pretty close to expirtaion date of I-94. So, my question is what's the point applying for it if it is going to be valid for only three months!

PS: should we wait until we receive the EAD card? In that case, it is going to be valid for a year.

We do not want to waste money or time as these are really important to us at this point of time. Also, is it going to help us proving our relaionship having her ID displaying the same address as the US citizen spouse when we go for AOS interview if we get one?

I thank you all for the input.

Just a happy couple!

Not much really. We went through the same thing. Some states allow drivers license to be obtained once EAD is approved with AOS. (not all though)

This is what we did. We waited for EAD and then got her drivers license..

Good luck
