Hi Everyone,

Can someone help me understanding the scenario that I've got B-1 visa approved at the time of interview on august 10th 2012 at Islamabad embassy, where the consular officer had told me that I will have my passport back in 5 working days. He kept my passport and No slip/letter was given to me.

I am under the impression that NO ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS/REVIEW was required in my case. Its been more than two weeks and i am still waiting for the passport.

Does this mean that my case could go into AP despite of that the Consular officer gave me a 5 days return time and no slip given??

Thanks!!

Could be possible, you may be in AP. Some have reported that they were approved and were told that they would get their passport/visa back in couple of days, but later they were put in AP.

You can call the Department of State to know your current status. +1 202 663 1225, press 1 then press 0 for the operator.

If you are male I have never heard of a Visa being issued without AP.

Thank u iwaiting.. Called the DOS today, the rep says it is in AP and she is unable to tell how long it could take, and all i can do is to keep on checking with them.

how long this AP can take in my given scenario?? this is going to be a great embarrasment becuase i have some business meetings scheduled in US with my clients. I did that after the interview where i had to wait not more than week.

This unpredictable wait time could spoil all of my plans and schedule :(

Any guesses about wait time??

Thanks.

A few months?

Some wait much longer but that is relatively unusual.
