Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone can help me. My wife has her I-485 interview this Friday, 8/31/12. One of the documents to bring is the birth certificate. Unfortunately, we sent in her original birth certificate with our initial application in the beginning. We have asked her mother to order another original copy of the birth certificate. We are able to have scanned copies of it to take to the interview but will not have originals. Will the interview person have our entire application file with them including the original birth certificate we sent in along with? Will the scanned copies be ok? We are very worried...hope someone can help us...

The interviewer will have all the documents you sent them already (if they didn't get lost). If you sent original documents in your package, no worry, they will have it and they won't ask for a new one. Just be aware that they may keep all the original docs that you gave them.

Best is to have all the docs again with you, original and copies, just to be sure. But you should be fine. :)
