Hi everyone

Me and my husband got married May 10/2012...I applied for my AOS/EAD back in June 7/2012, and a few days ago on Aug 25 I got my EAD card (no combo card or anything). I had my biometrics months ago, on June 27 and was told I was going to shortly be notified in the mail about when im going to have my AOS interview and where it will be held at (the woman in the biometrics office told us from where we are living we will have to go to Pittsburg for my AOS interview)

I already got my EAD card, but I have not gotten any notification about my AOS interview and when it will be. I thought I was supposed to get it alot sooner. When Should I be expecting that piece of mail?

You could be waiting for awhile. My husband was fortunate enough to get his AOS interview 3 months after we filed for AOS, but I know other people that have waited 4-6 months to hear about an interview. Unfortunately, it is a waiting game. Be thankful that you get to be with your husband for this leg of the journey, it helps to lessen the stress of waiting. :)

I've read in different places on this site from interviews with former USCIS personnel that the length of time until interview is determined by a number of different factors including FBI/background checks and how busy your field office is and when they have available time to interview for AOS. If you live in a 'busy' area, you might wait longer than someone in a different part of the US.

Regardless, it should be on a first come, first served basis. Hopefully not too much longer.

11/29/12 - AOS Interview in Atlanta - 10 minutes long and approved on the spot.

ROC in 2014!
