I can't find any useful information on this anywhere on the web so I am hoping someone here has had some experience with it--

I am an American currently in Peru on a tourist visa staying with my boyfriend. I plan on being here for the duration of the K1 visa application process, always on a tourist visa. My question is: should I put my temporary "travel" address in Peru as my current address, or my permanent address in the States? I'm afraid of: A) my being here on a tourist visa will create confusion/arouse suspicion and B) that mail won't get to me reliably here. But I also don't want to "lie" and imply I will be at my permanent address at any point during this process.

Anyone have a similar experience?

Put your permanent address in US. That is exactly what it is. You can travel all you want. You are not "lying". Mail going abroad is tricky at best sometimes. Depends on the country and area.

Do you have someone checking your mail in the US?

Keep in mind that there are documents needed for your fiance for the K1 after the I-129F gets approved. Do you have access to all of that information there with you? Additionally, you will need the NOA2 once approved. It will be mailed to whatever address you provide.

You also need to consider affidavit of support. Do you have a co-sponsor lined up?

Good luck

Welcome to the forum.

Agree with Que Saudade.

Additionally, there have been several VJ forum members with your similar situation. Consider using the site's "Google Custom Search" function (located at the top right of the forum page), using the term "mailing address." You should be able to find several threads with similar questions and reasonable responses, providing you with more opinions.

Good luck on your visa journey.
