Is the medical to be booked once packet 4 arrives? Or can an appointment be made with your case number?

You're not supposed to book your medical until Packet 4 arrives. Packet 4 contains a letter that says that you are allowed to book your medical and interview and you need to bring that with you for your medical appointment. So you could technically book your medical, but it's hard to know when you'll have Packet 4 in hand for your appointment. :)

That's what I thought but I wasn't entirely sure. Thanks for clarifying for me :)

You're welcome! I've spent so many hours reading and reading and reading. LOL NVC doesn't take long to send the stuff to Vancouver though and Vancouver is very fast with processing. You'll get Packet 4 pretty quickly!

When is your appointment? I just emailed them today and was wondering what their appointment schedule is like. :)

That is too bad that he doesn't give results on the same day. Does that mean I need to book my medical 2 days before my interview so that I can bring the results with me to my interview?

I understand that for the AOS, I will need to do another medical exam, but that the results from this test will be good for one year. Woking was able to provide an additional copy of the results. From reading this thread, it sounds like Dr Cheema will not be offering that. Does that mean that I will have to do another medical later for my AOS?

Dr.Cheema does NOT offer the 2nd copy of the records for AOS anymore. I'm wondering about the AOS medical too!

If you are AOSing within a year of your K-1 medical [very likely], you do NOT need another medical in the US. What you will need to do is find a local civil surgeon, once you arrive in the US, to transcribe your vaccination information onto a USCIS form I-693. They seal this in an envelope which you include in your AOS packet.

The only reason you would need a second copy of your full medical results would be if USCIS lost your medical somewhere between your PoE and your AOS adjudication and issued you an RFE for the full medical. This used to be somewhat more common than it is now, but was always quite rare. Woking did not offer this when I went through (in Spring 2009) and it was always insurance against a fairly rare occurrence.

DON'T PANIC

  • 3 weeks later...

I've been having a hard time rebooking my appointment with them. They originally scheduled me to do it the week after of my booking (responded the next day) but it was too soon for me so I wanted to reschedule. They asked for confirmation in which I replied I wanted to reschedule. I've sent 4 emails and still haven't heard back. My original appointment date is tomorrow and I still haven't gotten a response back from them.
