Saw Vollmer break that record and win a gold I was like you go girl!! Alison Schmitt also did a good job in winning a Silver and my heart was in my mouth when the U.S. men freestyle relay team just lost out on gold. Also well done to Hansen getting a bronze. But team USA are doing spectacularly, I'm so proud. I hope and pray they will eventually get to the top of the medals table cos boy are they on form. USA, USA, USA!!! :):D:wow::star::dance::thumbs:

I agree. No disrespect to Phelps but I think this may be Lochte's games. :star: Although I do hope that Phelps at least wins one medal, so he doesn't come home empty handed.

Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte team up, settle for silver in 4x100M freestyle. Phelps needs 2 more medals to have the most overall medals in history.

I was there I saw the race, totally intense. While Phelps may be highly likely to re-write history, I'm saying that I think it's Lochte's games, cos he appears to be in good form and on top of his game and has been training longer for these games than Phelps. But we shall see, either way I just hope it equals more medals for Team USA.

No gold for Phelps yet and it was a bittersweet thing to see the freestyle relay team lose to France, but this is just day three of the Olympics. happy.gif

Yes, if Phelps would win at least two more in his remaining four events (?). I thought he was joining seven events in all. His profile on the London 2012 website says it's only six.

US men basketball won the first match against France 98 to 71.

We will own basketball this time around. I wish it was more like the '92 DREAM TEAM though. That was the team of teams.

Yep and the women basketball team is even more highly favored than the men to get the gold.

Very bittersweet, but I guess you're right it's only day 3. I have no doubt that we have yet to see the best of this wonderful team of olympians.

I believe he pulled out of one race in preparation for the freestyle relay.

I hope we do, but I hope Team USA owns more than basketball but looking forward to watching the team in action more.

I really hope they do, and that they get to the top of the medals table.

As of 12:45 pm PDT (8:45 pm BST), Team China has a total of 16 Olympic medals (9 gold, 5 silver, 2 bronze) while Team USA has 17 (5 gold, 7 silver, 5 bronze). Missy Franklin and Matthew Grevers have done it in 100-meter backstroke. Luckily Grevers stayed with Team USA instead of joining Team Netherlands. luv.gif
