How do I find out if Cuidad Juarez received my K1 fiance petition from the NVC???? The NVC sent it to Cuidad Juarez on 07/26/2010. The pay telephone numbers do not give me an option for information about my case, because I do not have to set an interview date. I would appreciate any information. I believe it takes about one month to send package 3. But, I want to pick up a copy of the open interview letter in Cuidad Juaraez. I am planing to be there on 09/20/2010.

Hi Douglas1, I have a quick question. My fiance and I just recently received the last letter giving us the go-ahead to come to the consulate. Thank god the place re-opened! Anyway, I'm trying to find a good place to stay and the Holiday Inn Express sounds good but I'm having trouble locating it on google maps. Do you have the correct address? Thanks!

Well, as far as I know you don't need to wait for the famous packet 3 ... which by the way, is not a packet is just an envelope with the open appointment letter and the medical examination instructions, we were waiting for a real packet with looooot of papers!!

What people at Consulate line told me was that as soon as they have the case and they are able to provide you case number, you have the "green light" to go to Juarez and request the open appointment letter at Consulate ... for that you need to call them.

I know the waiting and everything is hard but my suggestion is ... stay calm and let the things follow their way, I was so frustrating and wanted to do things faster but at the end decided to wait for the letter and was way better.

It's up to you guys ... save money if you can because this is not over yet, I'm in the AOS and is being a nightmare!

Why has the AOS been a nightmare?

Thank God everything is done, at least for the next year.

The reason was a nightmare for us is because I didn't know a lot of things before traveling.

I wish we could save money doing the shoots in Mexico and also requested a copy of my medical results in Juarez that save, as I said money and headaches trying to "convince" a USCIS Dr. (who supposed to know all the processes instead of trying to rip you off) that you don not need a complete examination because the one you had in Juarez is valid for a year.

Why do you must request a copy of your medical results in Juarez? Simple, because they only provide an empty sheet of paper with your name, date of the examination and Dr. signature, that is not enough proof for USCIS Drs.

Even when that full record is in the famous yellow envelope, you can not open it to make a copy ... so, you don't have proof of what they did to you.

When I went to take all the shots they also told me that I needed the TB skin test which came positive due to the TB vaccine I had in Mexico as child ... if came positive the next step is a chest X ray, but hey ... I just had one in Juarez!!

Yes, and when I told them I had a CD with the results they said a recent one was a must because the USCIS Dr. wouldn't accept the CD ... more money for another X-ray yay!!

I was "lucky" because I've read about people doing complete medical examinations requested by USCIS Dr.

That was the worst part to me, paperwork was easy ... tedious but easy.

I already heard from moleary in another thread (thank you for your reply to me :)) I made, but wanted to post my question here to see if anyone else put anything different.

For those of you that already had your interviews... on the I-134, did you check one of the boxes on question 11, "I intend" or "I do not intend", or did you do like the example form here on VJ shows and did not check anything and put "N/A (K1 visa process for permanent residence)"?

So, does anyone know if it is possible to get a copy of the medical exam results? Also, how do I get the doctor to sign something proving that my fiance has all her vaccinations? I need to save money!!! This is coming out very expensive. By the way, I am also from Chicago.

I wish to know how too, in the clinic they just say that is confidential and they dont give any copy.

For me is oviously that they don´t give copy for that they give a sealed envelope, but i read here that you can get a copy, but they dont say how.

Is your fiance going to take the shoots in Juarez?

If so, they will give you a document with that info.

If she is going to take the shoots in Mexico you will save even more, she can go to any CENTRO DE SALUD and get the shoots for free or for a very low price they also have an international certificate for no more than 200 pesos. Make sure it has Dr's sign and stamp.

Other choice is if she is working any kind of insurance like IMSS, ISSSTE are for free also.

Well if that person told you NO go look for another, request to talk to the manager YOU ARE PAYING FOR A SERVICE and is not cheap at all!

I understand that when we go to this place we are nervous and basically praying because our future is in their hands but that doesn't mean we have to stand there and saying nothing if they are treating us in disrespectful way.

I read about people requesting a copy to the Officer at POE, there is more than one option, do not give up to the first NO you heard.

Does anyone know if the NVC sends the visa packet by DHL to Cuidad Juarez? If so, does the NVC give you the DHL tracking number. I am trying to find out if Cuidad Juarez has my K1 visa petition. I called the Dept of Sate and the NVC and all they told me is that it was sent out to Cuidad Juarez on 07/26/10. It has been three weeks since they shipped it.

The NVC doesn't give you a tracking number. It's probably a certainty that CDJ has had the package for 3 weeks. They probably got it before you received the NVC letter. From the time you get the letter from the NVC assigning the CDJ number until the open appointment letter comes is around a 4-6 weeks. You won't hear anything from anybody until then. The appointment letter is sent to the USC petitioner and the beneficiary via REGULAR MAIL, so in all likelihood the USC will get it first, as regular mail in Mexico is generally slower than in the US.

As an aside, I tried to get information by calling all the CDJ phone numbers with different credit cards (everything from a debit card, mastercard and amex) and none of the cards would accept the per-call charges. You can try that or maybe someone else had better luck calling CDJ and can offer additional advice.

Thank you. The reason why I am concerned is because I jumped the gun and booked a flight to Cuidad Juarez on 09/19/10. I just want to find out if they have it and when they send packet 3 out with the invitation letter. I did not want to book the flight last minute because it would be more expensive.
