I'm currently adjusting my status based on marriage and I received a letter requesting evidence of my entry to the united states. I already sent a copy of my I-94 and my visa and they asked for it again. They also asked for the I-512 which I don't know what it is. I was inspected when I came into the united states. What is the I-512?

What is the I-512?

It is the advanced parole document. Paper or card form.

Have you ever been issued an advance parole? Have you left the U.S. since you applied?

I got the same RFE letter during my AOS process 2 years ago.

I could have sworn I sent a copy of my I-94 and visa as well because I remember quadruple checking my package like a crazy person.

Either USCIS lost these or I must have forgotten to include them initially.

In the end I decided that it didnt matter which was the reason for me getting the RFE.

I sent everything again (or for the first time.. who knows..) except I added copies of just about everything else I had that had an entry stamp as well. My I-20s, my boarding pass, the passport page that has the entry stamp.. everything!

The process was smooth from thereon out.

My advice? Send it all again and I'd recommend sending this with some sort of tracking service as well so you'll know when it arrives.

It could be a very simple reason that USCIS just lost them.

I have seen some of my friends had to send again the Birth Certificate or Medical Exam (I-693), which they were already sent with the original package.

Losing an entire I-693, that must be a new level of incompetence but yet it doesn't surprise me, lets just hope that they don't lose an I-130 or I-485 :rofl:

I notice how they don't seem to lose those checks with our money on them, they always seem to get them cashed without a hitch :lol:

Day 0: 02/25/12: Mailed concurrent I-130/AOS Package to the Chicago Lockbox

Day 2: 02/27/12: Package arrived at the Chicago Lockbox.

Day 5: 03/01/12: Email acceptance confirmation received for Forms: I-130, I-485 & I-765.

Day 13: 03/09/12: NOA1s received for Forms: I-130, I-485 & I-765. Biometrics letter also received and scheduled for March 27th.

Day 24: 03/20/12: Email notification for RFE.

Day 27: 03/23/12: Hardcopy RFE received in the mail.

Day 31: 03/27/12: Biometrics completed.

Day 40: 04/05/12: Mailed off the RFE.
