I just received email from NVC that they would like me to submit the Immigrant visa application Part 1 for my wife. I had a question I am pretty sure that is the DS-230. I have already paid all of the fees I think and submitted the I-864 with all documentation. Anything else left?

Do I just need to fill it all out and send it to them or do I need to attach any documentation with it as well. Since the state department website says visa application and civil documentation?

thanks in advance

If you already submitted your AOS PAcket (Affidavit of Support) and paid the IV FEE, then it your wife's turn to submit her VIsa Application which is the DS-230 form along with her civil documents such as Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate, Police Clearance..

Check this for your wife..

  • Cover Sheet from NVC
  • DS-230 Part 1 completed and signed by beneficiary
  • DS-230 Part 2 completed by beneficiary – unsigned, as of yet, per instructions
  • Two (2) Passport Size Photographs of Beneficiary (NVC Case Number, beneficiary’s full name, and date of birth are written on back of both)
  • Photocopy of the Biographic Data Page of Beneficiary’s Passport
  • Authenticated / Certified Birth Certificate of beneficiary and a copy
  • Authenticated / Certified Marriage Certificate and a copy
  • Original/Certified Police Clearance Certificate and a copy

Check the internet and anyone you know who is ahead of you in the process also using your local embassy to see if you can get the local document list being used there. You might find additional document requirements you can get started on ahead of time. This worked for us. If you don't have access to that list, don't worry about it. But the earlier the better.

Done: I-130/CR-1, I-751/ROC

Done: I-327
